Näin alkuun ilmoitusluontoinen asia. Pikkulintu kävi livertämässä Silently and Very Fast  -arvosteluni kommenteissa, että Åconissa on vielä muutamalle tilaa. Tarkempia tietoja osallistumismaksusta ja hotellihuoneen varaamisesta löytyy conin nettisivulta. Tällä viikolla huoneen saa vielä con-hintaan. Ja ajankohtahan on helatorstain viikonloppu. Tämä ei ole loppukirjoitukseen nähden mitenkään irrallinen asia, sillä Åconin kunniavieraana on Catherynne M. Valente ja arvatkaas kuinka monen Locus-kategorian ehdokkaana hän onkaan tänä vuonna? (No, ei tarvi arvata, ehdokkuudet voi laskeakin).

Eilen julkistettiin siis 2012 Locus-palkintoehdokkaat ja tänään vuorossa oli Arthur C. Clarke -palkinnon voittaja. Aloitetaan voittajalla.

Dystopioiden ystäville erittäin suositeltava. Pitkästä aikaa ei-genrekirjailija ja -kustantaja voitti ACC-genre-palkinnon. (Jee, Clarke winner -prosenttini Worlds without Endissä nousee, samoin kuin Award winning books by women authors -listan prosenttikin).

Locus Science Fiction -säätiö on julkaissut tämän vuoden Locus-palkintoehdokkaat eri kategorioihin. Ehdokkaat nimetään lehden lukijakunnan äänestystulosten perusteella. Palkinnot jaetaan 15.-17.6. välisenä aikana. Tässä osa kategorioista.
